The San Diego Community News Group, SDNEWS locally owned and operated and has been delivering high-quality news, community voice, and storytelling since 1988. Currently, they publish seven locally unique community newspapers delivered to the central, affluent neighborhoods of San Diego.
SDNEWS provides free home delivery, ensuring their advertisers get the best visibility. They continue to evolve and report what is important to the communities they serve, from print to multimedia platforms, while upholding journalistic integrity that has earned them a reputation as being the papers people love to read.
When SDNEWS first approached us they explained that their previous WordPress developer had left them with an unfinished project and asked if Intrepid Network could help finish the project.
Our first order of business was to conduct a thorough discovery. This involved scheduling a meeting to Identify their goal(s) and discuss the needs of their business. At this meeting, we discussed the project budget for each phase of the process. We then put together a Statement-of-Work that outlined how we would meet these needs within their budget and provided an estimated delivery date for each phase of the project.
Intrepid Network was brought on to assist with website usability improvements such as layout changes and organizational flow of content. Consumer-facing value was added through the implementation of an interactive drop location map that allows viewers to locate their community's paper that location closest to them.
Additional administrative content creation and management efficiencies were added to save staff time while writing articles and creating ads.
